DR.AYTEN BOZKAYA PRESCHOOL
An esteemed and deceased doctor Ayten Bozkaya donated the land of our school,on which the construction started on August 24,1992 and was completed on December 15,1993. After the completion of the construction ,Dr.Ayten Bozkaya Preschool,connected to Osmangazi County, started educational activities on February 14,1994. Our school houses 10 classrooms,12 brunches in two floors.Our school offers 7 full-day and 6 half-day classes.Our school has a large garden and children’s play area.
Our vision is to prove our school’s quality in pre-school education and to train qualified individuals. Our strategy is “parents are an essential support for our school!..”

Berger Primary School
Berger is a larger than average primary school in an inner-urban residential area. Pupils come from a wide range of backgrounds and a much higher proportion than is usual come from families where English is an additional language. A higher-than-average proportion of pupils have special educational needs and/or disabilities. These are mostly moderate learning difficulties, or difficulties in the behavioural, emotional and social spectrum, or difficulties with speech, language and communication. The school has won several awards for its provision, including the Artsmark and the full International Award. It is actively involved in a 'creative partnership' programme which provides funding and expertise to stimulate creative approaches to the curriculum and learning environment. The Early Years Foundation Stage has places for 110 children age 3-5. Extended services are run by the governing body, including a breakfast club.
In Berger we have children from various backgrounds- mostly from immigrant families-Turkish, Spanish, Arabic, Bengali, Vietnamese, Bosnian, Portuguese, Punjabi, Albanian, Twi, French, Polish are just to name a few and thus we respect diversity greatly. Since parents play a vital part in a child’s education especially in early years we are planning to have (sharing) meetings with parents after visits to be able to share our experience and cultural and geographical information-songs, plays, exhibition of drawings of the children- through slides, videos and make them have a chance to see how other nurseries work in different countries to promote cultural awareness. Also this sharing of knowledge will make our parents from the countries that take part in this project (such as Turkish, Spanish, Romanian etc.) will feel included and proud. Another activity is to have children sending postcards to each other to build up the relationship between the schools and cultures.

Our school was founded in 1991. We are in an urban zone near the sea in one of the three builded zones into Mijas municipality. There are many families working in service sector (hotels, restaurants, construction,etc) and administration workers.
There are 550 pupils this school year , 150 in pre-primary and 400 in primary, learning in two different buildings. We are 33 teachers, 7 pre-primary and 26 primary with differents specialities (Music, english, primary). We are I.C.T. school and all of our pupils 11 and 12 years old have a netbook to support the learning classes.
Our class time is from 9,00 a.m. to 14,00 p.m. but we open the school at 7,00 a.m. to get the pupils who their parents work early in the morning. The school cantine time is from 14,00 to 16,00 p.m. and some pupils have extracurricular activities like english, computer, flamenco dance, etc from 16,00 to 18,00 p.m.

The project began in 2010 and ended in 2012.
